LOVE OF THE COUNTRY

Abstract

What is patriotism for me? By definition, patriotism means strong support for one's country, but I don't think it's the only thing. I think one possible definition is sacrifice. Our armed forces and their families have to sacrifice a lot, like time with their parents and children. Some children spend years waiting for their parents to return from overseas, and I guarantee parents feel the same way. Some children are afraid that their parents will not come home at all. People in the armed forces suffer in silence and sacrifice a lot, often without the world knowing or understanding.
